Our dynamic and ever expanding company is looking for an independent, self motivated, responsible individual to help us create some of the world's most iconic mascot costumes. Our clientele includes sports teams, colleges, high schools and companies all over the world including the San Jose Sharks, Chicago Bears and Syracuse University.
Our mascot costumes are in such high demand....we just can't keep up! So, if you have one, both or even some of the following skill sets, we could sure use your help!
SCULPTING:
- Visualizing a 3D mascot head from a 2D conceptual drawing
- Carving and sculpting a structure with foam and glue
- Proficiency in fine detail (painting and finishing)
- Building and finishing props similar to those used in theatre productions.
SEWING:
- Pattern drafting
- Sewing full fur bodies and outfits for our custom mascots based on illustrations unique to each client
- Experienced in following patterns and expertise in hand stitching
- Proficient with industrial sewing machines (straight stitch, serge, walking foot, etc.)
- Experience working with various fabrics (faux fur, foam, fleece, spandex, heavy nylon, broadcloth, etc.)
- Building props for costumes and drama productions
As a bonus, we’d love it if you have:
- Education in fashion design or costuming or sculpting
- Production sewing experience or mascot/costuming experience
- A keen eye for detail, leaning towards perfectionism
- Take pride in producing some high quality stuff that will likely be featured in front of a huge audience
- Tenacity to meet deadlines
- Patience and an open mind to learn
- Desire to make a difference and have some fun doing it!
Compensation will range based on experience and proven ability. But if you have the raw skills, we will pay you to learn how we do it.
